Get it? Stress is one of the things we live along with throughout the whole cycle of life. Some are enormous, and some are everyday stress that we have to cope with. However, when things get too big, then it becomes a problem. Not only time management is very important, managing stress is also a very important step in our life. Whenever I get stressed, I do certain activities that I like to do in order to get rid of them. This has been an ongoing process for me all throughout my life, and I am sure it is for most people as well. I have used Stress Diagram and Sources of Stress to sort out my stresses and found out where they came from. Actually thinking about them and listing them down made me realize what kind of stress I had, and how much they are taking a part in my life. When I was drawing the stress diagram, I was able to see what was the major causes of my stress. Grades and school took a big part of the diagram and most of my stress was derived from school, worries/hope about my future, and parents' expectation, which is also related to school work. Now that I have list of my stressful factors, I feel that I can get more control over my stresses and how I should cope with them.
We may always feel like we want to get away from the current moment of stress, but I know that it is impossible. I want to make myself be able to cope with stress better, and know how to handle them, not just feel pressured all the time.
Stresses can be problems but at the same time they can be motivators.
I came to understand that without stress, where would be all the joy, and the fun and relief? I do things that I like whenever I feel like I am under pressure of stress. This is the time when I can relieve my stress and at the same time, make my feelings better and get myself together. I like to play sports such as basketball, listen to music, write and sing, hang out with friends when I am stressful. I realized that what would be the point of all these if I am living without stress? I would not feel relief, motivated, and the need to control myself if there was no stress. In effect, moderate stress is healthy mentally and physically. However, getting under too much pressure will be painful and there is a greater chance that I might give up on something if there is too much stress overwhelming me. There are always ways to get rid of your stress. I must always stay on top of my things and do the best in whatever I do so that I do not get under too much pressure. We must strive from the stress, because it is an essential part of life, and we must just accept it as it is. Stress coping skills is an important factor.
Do not let stress overwhelm you and you must handle it and get rid of it. Just enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI really like your last picture! :) it gives me a relief. I agree with you on the fact that we should not let the stress to overwhelm us but we should instead find a way to get rid of it! I also like your saying "Stresses can be problems but at the same time they can be motivators." It surely can motivate us greatly!
ReplyDeleteAs a suggestion, I would suggest you to try 10 minute vacation to relieve your stress while doing your work. You can rest for 10 minutes and do whatever you wish to do, but only for 10 minutes, and get back to work! If you continue doing this, you will find out that not only did you not waste your time, but also you did not stress yourself out from working too much! It really works and you should give it a try! Great job on your blog B-Mayne! :)
I like your last picture and comment. Just enjoy; thats why we are here for. Not only to study but to enjoy a college life in general. In order to do that, we gotta have less stressful lives and by using 10 minute vacation like you have explained here, it will allow me to refreshen my mind and start my work with fresh new brain which leads to harder, better, and more quality work. Thanks for sharing B-Mayne
ReplyDeleteWhen you let the stress overwhelm yourself, that is when you should take a semester off. I almost came to the point where I was thinking of taking a semester off due to tremendous amount of stress. I am just relieved to know that there are only 3 more weeks of semester left. The 10 minute vacation plan will provide a paradise, especially when you are working really hard and are in need of short break.
ReplyDeleteStress diagram seems like the most popular strategy used this week in blog. I think it's because it's simple to use and adapt to your current studying environment without disrupting your routine much. Yet, it's effective and help you in many ways to decrease your stress level. I know that I'm a visual leaners so it helps me to see things in their stress level and prioritize them in order. So they are very effective to me. Another good thing is this strategy is not limited to specific course but broad courses. Source of stress is similar to stress diagram but it's more specific and geared toward those who aren't visual learner. I think if used together, they will work great !
ReplyDeleteI really like your first picture; I would really like to have no stress, but I guess that is impossible. Stress is something that we should bear with during our lifetime. I also like your phrase "Stresses can be problems but at the same time they can be motivators." Usually, our goals that we want to acheive give us a lot of stresses. But we still work hard to acheive those goals. Really nice phrase!
